Affectionately, we nursed it.
Grew it larger,
Unfurling its green.
Advanced it further,
Piercing through the walls, thick.
Hurdles, none,
To make it stumble.

Feeble at its root.

Leaves turned pale,
Parched off its aesthetic pleasure.

She shed the tears of lament.
Wandering for answers,
She paused her eyes into his.
Words failed to elaborate –
The decay of the green,
Of time,
And their own.
