Decay.

Hope

image

Sowed the seeds with hands, tender.
Affectionately, we nursed it.
Grew it larger,
Unfurling its green.
Advanced it further,
Piercing through the walls, thick.
Hurdles, none,
To make it stumble.
Robust it looked,
Feeble at its root.
Rotated the wheel of fate;
Leaves turned pale,
Parched off its aesthetic pleasure.
Transfigured into a skeleton
She shed the tears of lament.
Wandering for answers,
She paused her eyes into his.
Words failed to elaborate –
The decay of the green,
Of time,
And their own.
